Takenobu Igarashi (1944–2025) was a celebrated Japanese graphic designer and sculptor. He gained fame in the 1970s for his axonometric alphabet artworks, featured in Graphis magazine. He designed visual identities for Suntory Hall and Tama Art University and edited key design books.
In the 1980s, he created products for MoMA and supported Japanese regional industries. A member of AGI since 1980, he pioneered computer-based design education at Tama Art University. In 1994, he transitioned to sculpture, returning to Japan in 2004. His works are in over 30 museums, including MoMA. He received awards like the Mainichi Design Award and passed away on February 12, 2025.
